Nicola Chiaromonte is the man who helped make Primitivo famous on the global stage—and he does things his own way. His vines grow to the sound of Mozart played around the clock. He is responsible for producing the most powerful dry wine ever recorded at 19.8%, and also one of the most exclusive and premium Primitivo/Zinfandel bottlings in the world. His wines are unapologetic, expressive, and built to provoke a reaction.
Tonight, those wines don’t stand alone. They’re placed in dialogue with selections curated by Gabe Mecozzi from Davigna Wines, drawing from a broader international portfolio. Each course is designed as a matchup—Old World vs New World, tradition vs interpretation, restraint vs intensity—allowing the food to act as the referee and your palate to decide the winner. From a celebratory Méthode Ancestrale welcome pour, through whites, Merlot, and bold reds, and finally into a soft Moscato d’Asti finish, this dinner isn’t about declaring a champion—it’s about experiencing contrast, discovering preference, and understanding how place, philosophy, and personality show up in the glass.
